ABOUT ME

I was born in Storm Lake, Iowa and grew up on a farm near Greenville. I went to school at Gillett Grove and graduation from South Clay Community School there. In fact, my class just had our 50th class reunion this summer.

My husband and I were partners in our family farm near Rockford, Iowa before moving to Mason City in 1981. I have two grown children, Jeff and Darcy. I have four grandchildren ranging in ages from 5 years to 14 years.

I recently (2013) retired from Mercy Medical Center in Mason City after 33 years. I was a Unit Clerk in Pediatrics for the first 17 years, and the remaining years, a department secretary in the Behavioral Services Outpatient Clinic.

I enjoy writing stories for children of all ages, gleaning ideas from my four grandchildren. They have really given me some of the cutest ideas. I have written a romance/mystery book in honor of my Mom, which is in the process of being published called "A Dog Named Wang."  I have a historical Christian romsnce that I am working on. I am interested now in writing for Young Adults, specifically the Middle Grade age.

In addition to my three books, I also published a poem in Julian's Journal, Dubuque, IA. called "Mama's Apron," which I wrote for my mother.

My short story, "Mama's Sewing Machine" was published in an anthology, "Needle in a Haystack." This was published by Jean Tennent of Shapato Publishing in Everly, Iowa. in 2013.
