My newest picture book just released

It has been a thrilling time for me since I posted my first blog in January. My thrid children's picture book, The Littlest Penguin, was released by Guardian Angel Publishing.

I want to give a couple of shout outs to a couple of talented individuals. KC Snider. has done a fantastic job on my book. She is a very talented illustrator with losts of experience. The other one is my publishe, who has done a wonderful job, Lynda Burch at Guardian Angel.,

So I have been spending my time setting up book signing events and placing the books at business places. All this has been done using my cell phone and laptop as I am still away from home babysitting. But once you are on the Internet, you can get most of the work done where you are.

Things have sure changed in that respect since I graduated. Sure, I had a portable typewriter, but what a pain. Good thing I was not doing any writing then. Just my dorky poems. I was too busy being a farm wife and mother by day, and a part time nurses aide by night. So glad to be doing the greatest share of my writing in the tech age! Even if a lot of that tech stuff is sometimes beyond my comprehension.

Anyway, it wasn't until five years before I retired (2010) that I actually published my first book, The Many Hats of Jeremiah Porter. My second book, My Hot Air Balloon, was published in 2014. When I retired in December 2013, I was able to spend more time on my writing. My time was more flexible.

While in Grinnell babysiting, I set up my first book signing here. It is at Stepping Stones Christian Book store in Marshalltown March 27 and in Grinnell March 28.
