What a charming little book! Rainbow of Friendship written by Jni Klein-Higger tells a wonderful story in rhyme about the diverse sizes and shapes in a little red girl's totally red town. Rainbow Row City with its different colors is a great way to explain to children that it is safe to play with children that are not the same color or shape. At the same time, it provides an entertaining vehicle to teach this to children. I love the rhyming of the text. Eileen Goldberg does an excellent job of illustration the meshing of colors as the child in the story moves through the different colors of Rainbow Row City.
Suggested age range is for children 2-8.
